I love you so much more,

Than any words can say,
I do not want to leave you,
But I’ve got to go away!

I’ll never ever forget you,
It seems such a terrible crime,
I will surely love you forever,
But now is just not the right time!

So here is half a sixpence*,
I have broken it in two;
One half is for me,
And the other half for you;

 I will keep mine forever,
And if our paths ever cross again,
I’ll show you it, and if you’re still single,
We could start all over again!

So bye for now my precious love,
No matter what comes of all this;
You'll always be very special to me,
Now come ‘ere and give us a kiss!
