On Mother’s Day, this year,
We do hope we’ve brought you joy at times,
And you haven’t shed too many a tear!
We are sorry we’ve caused you so much worry,
Over the last two decades or more;
Even though we have been lots of trouble,
You have still always opened your door!
You are always there with a listening ear,
And some homemade currant buns too!
We’ve done well to survive in this life so far,
But we wouldn't have done without you!
And now that you are a Grand-mama,
Your singing voice is much better;
And you still insist that every word,
Is said to the very last letter!
So we hope you have a lovely day,
This Mother’s Day, 2010;
