To Our Son Dominic-Pierre,

We're so very proud of you;
Today it is your wedding,
We never thought you'd see it through!

Didn't think you had it in you,
To tie the knot and settle down,
How wonderful to see you do it,
With the lovely Emily Brown!

So lucky you plucked up courage,
And proposed to her just in time;
Even luckier that she said "yes",
And decided not to move down to Lyme!

We couldn't wish for anyone better,
As our very first daughter-in-law;
She'll certainly keep you on your toes,
And in no way is she a bore!

Hope she doesn't realise before the big day,
What a pain in the arse you can be;
She might stand you up at the altar!
Jump in her Manta and flee!

Only joking, we're sure that won't happen,
You'll be as happy as can be;
We wish you wedded bliss for many years,
In the quaint little town of Leigh!

And now when you've got an interview,
Or need an ironed shirt or two,
We don't expect bag fulls of washing,
To be brought to our house to do!
